Ottawa 141 Custodial and Maintenance Workers Win Big in New Contract
The Custodial and Maintenance workers of Ottawa School District #141 overwhelmingly voted to ratify their new contract which includes big wins for the workers. In addition to a 5% raise for each year of the four-year contract, workers also secured increases in longevity pay, head custodian pay, and uniform allowances.
Despite efforts to remove comp time from the contract, workers were able to secure it moving forward. The new contract also clarifies contract language including how to prorate vacation time in an employee’s first year of employment.
