Unit 2

Unit II workers with the City of Chicago have voted overwhelmingly to approve their new contract. The bargaining team achieved some great victories including: Across the board wages increases; expansion of our bargaining unit with the addition of Aviation Security Officer Trainer position; a pandemic bonus of $3,000, wage increases including Cost of Living increases; recognition of past service for our Traffic Control Aides who move from part-time to full-time; 12 weeks paid parental leave; expansion of COMP time accrual; and compression of years in step increases.

“Thanks to all of the members on our bargaining team throughout negotiations,” said Jeff Howard, SEIU Local 73 Executive Vice President.” Now we wait for our brothers and sisters at IBEW to vote on their contract so these can be put before the City Council for approval.
