In Memoriam: Jesus “Jesse” Medina

Local 73 is mourning the loss of long-time member Jesus “Jesse” Medina.

Jesse was a Chief Steward for Aurora East School District #131, where he served as a custodian. Jesse was a vital union member who served Local 73 in multiple roles, including the Executive Board, Leadership Assembly Delegate, National Organizing Core Team, and serving on numerous committees.

“Our hearts go out to Jesse’s family and our members at Aurora East,” said Dian Palmer, President of SEIU Local 73. “The passing of Jesse Medina is a great loss to Local 73 and the community.”

“We are devastated by the loss of our union brother,” said Joe Richert, Secretary-Treasurer. “Jesse was a true friend and one of the strongest advocates for our union. We will miss him deeply.”

Services will be held on Friday, August 25, 3:00-7:00 pm, at James Funeral Home, 204 Hill Ave. Aurora, Il 60505.
