Galesburg Food Service Workers Make Big Gains in New Contract

The Food Service Workers in Community Unit School District #205 Galesburg made big gains in their new contract.

Workers have won a 12% increase over the next three years; two new holidays; an attendance bonus; and strengthened longevity bonuses.

“The pandemic demonstrated the vital role of food service workers for students and their community,” said Joe Richert, Local 73 Secretary-Treasurer. “These workers keep students fed and healthy. This contract recognizes their work and provides them with the wages they deserve.”
