Coal City School Custodians Unanimously Approve New Contract

The Custodial Workers at Coal City School District #1 have unanimously approved a five-year contract.

The contract includes pay raises every year of the contract with the exception of a first year wage freeze for the highest paid workers.

The workers will receive PTO days immediately after finishing their probation for the first time ever. In addition, their probationary period has been shortened by 60 work days.

“We made gains on PTO and probationary periods thanks to our bargaining team and Local 73,” said Lynn Pearson, chief steward.
