The bargaining committee sat down with management for our first bargaining session on Monday, June 17th. We had a general conversation about issues faced by members, including staffing and workload, use of subcontractors, changes to descriptions and access to training.
The Union offered proposals for the following:
- Codify the current practice of submitting grievances via email
- Codify current practice allowing members to submit vacations for a duration of more than 2 weeks outside of the current CBA language that only allows for the submission between March 1st and March 15th
Two more sessions are scheduled for June 24th and July 3rd. At these sessions, we will offer a wider range of proposals on non-economic issues affecting union members.
