SEIU Local 73 and CTU Take the Board to School! RSVP Today

Kim on mic

School’s out for summer but Mayor Lightfoot’s new School Board is in session. They will be having their first meeting this Wednesday, June 26th and we need to show them that CPS employees will be watching and grading them from day one. Chicago is under new management and it is not going to be business as usual for CPS employees because you are alert and you are taking the power back. Join the Chicago Teachers Union and your fellow coworkers at Local 73 as we stand united to make our concerns for our schools known loud and clear.

CPS employees represented by SEIU Local 73 have been negotiating their contract for nearly a year but we have not seen management reach just terms at the table. We will be turning out on June 26th to let the board know how long and how hard we’ve been fighting for greater resources for our students, fair staffing, and fair wages. The new School Board has an opportunity to be a board that brings fairness and equity back to our public schools. As vital CPS employees that provide important services to Chicago communities, we intend to hold the board accountable to us and to the students we serve every day.
