In Memoriam: Rashidi Baruti

SEIU Local 73 is mourning the loss of long-time member Rashidi Baruti, who passed away on Tuesday, October 8.

Baruti was a familiar face on the first floor of Stroger Hospital, where he worked as a Building Service Worker. He was known for his kindness and dedication to public service. He recently worked at the Core Center in Stroger up until his passing.

Baruti previously worked as a CT Tech at Provident Hospital, where he also defended his coworkers as a union steward.

“Baruti was a good man who was admired by his fellow union members. We send our deepest condolences to Baruti’s family, friends, and coworkers,” said SEIU Local 73 President Dian Palmer.
