Elgin U46 Food Service workers have ratified a new union contract that will bring more fairness into the workplace.
Workers won a new policy that extends holiday pay to all staff, new paid holidays, guaranteed raises in place of merit-based raises, and seniority pay. U46 Food Service workers show that a union contract can bring transparency into the workplace.
“This contract gets us back on track from where we have been lost for a while. It is a fair, well-thought contract that makes me proud to be a Chief Steward. The negotiation team did an amazing job, and our union rep. Mike guided us through all of the bumps and huge obstacles,” — Diane Goscinski, Elementary Lead
