90% Vote to Ratify Unit 2 City of Chicago Contract
After a 2 ¾ year fight, you the members of our Public Safety Unit of the City of Chicago, have by 90% voted and approved ratification of the Unit II contract! The contract features:
- 4 ½ year contact from 1/1/2018-6/20/2022
- 10.5% wage increases over life of contract, retroactive to 2018
- Sick Leave for Part -Time employees
- Protection of many articles in the contract

These negotiations have been a battle since the beginning and we want thank and give a big round of applause to our Bargaining Team for all their passion, patience, and tenacity in fighting to win the best contract we could under the ever-changing, trying circumstances. Thank You!

Now our contract goes before City Council for final approval. Hopefully, at the September City Council Meeting.
In the coming weeks we will be conducting new steward elections. If you are interested in becoming a Union Steward please contact your Member Action Center at 312-787-5868, and they will send you a Steward Commitment Form and Steward Petition that requires signatures of your co-workers.
Be on the lookout for calls from our Member Political Organizers who have started on our Fall Political program, they will be reaching out about the importance of this year’s Presidential and “Fair Tax” elections.
