Worth Park District Members Reach Tentative Agreement
Worth Park District members recently ended negotiations victoriously, as they reached a new tentative agreement. This agreement reflects a sizable upswing across a number of issues the team faced.
- Improved NEO language that allows a union representative and union steward to meet with new hires for up to an hour at their NEOs
- Creation of four (4) personal days to be used in the calendar year that did not exist before
- New vacation time scale
- Old scale: 1-3 = 5 days, 4-7 = 10, 8-15 = 15, 16-20 = 20, 20+ = 25
- New scale: 3 months-1 year = 3, 1-5 = 10, 5-10 = 15, 10-15 = 20, 15+ = 25
- Expanded bereavement leave in who the policy covers and a provision to allow workers to add to it by utilizing their sick time
- Sick leave can be used in 1 hour increments instead of 4
- Boot allowance from $100 to $150
- Loudermill language before discipline — employer has to give 48 hour notice before disciplining a member
- Improves longevity pay now every 5 years from 5-25 years of employment
- Wages: 5%/year each year of a 3 year contract.
- 15% for each worker, which amounts to an increase of approximately $2,000/year.
- Every worker will be in the 40,000+ range by year two.
Congratulations to Worth Park District members who have showcased the power of unions!
