City of Chicago Unit 2 – August Bargaining Update

We held negotiations on August 5. Here’s a summary of where we’re at:

• We have come to agreement on some cross training opportunities for Crossing Guards and TCA’s.
• We have agreed on codifying sick days for part-time workers.
• We are working with our union brothers and sisters from IBEW 21 to negotiate the employers desired changes on how comp time is earned.

We are moving closer to agreement on money, but still have some big issues to tackle including comp time accrual and health care increases.

There are two bargaining sessions coming up: August 19 and September 9.
