Cook County: Update & Status on Contract Negotiations for 2017-2020

We recognize that following our most recent contract negotiations, upgrades and re-classifications were not implemented as part of the contract ratification process as agreed upon by the parties and here is the reason why from the employer:

“The County is working diligently to process various transactions in the new Oracle EBS system, including transactions affecting SEIU members. Necessary transactions pursuant to collective bargaining agreements are a high priority. Thank you for your patience as we complete these transactions. We will continue to update you on our progress. Also, please be advised that retro-activity payments will be processed shortly after the upgrades and re-classifications are implemented.”

This situation is impacting all unions affiliated with Cook County. Local 73 will work to ensure that the County follows its obligations under the collective bargaining agreement. Your union will monitor and ensure that the County does what it agreed to do. If the situation is not rectified within 60 days, then workers will take action to put pressure on Cook County to fix the issue.
