Grad Union Cookout @Union Park in Chicago – Sunday, August 5

Join your fellow grad union members in the Chicago area for an awesome union cookout/potluck at Union Park! We will eat things and drink things while crying about what it’s like to be graduate students (hard. it is hard). We will also have fun and games and probably lots of loud conversation (in true academic spirit) about building worker power on our respective campuses, carrying out pressure campaigns, and other strategies for getting our universities to the bargaining table! Come one, come all–everyone is welcome! And dogs. Dogs are always welcome. All higher education union members are welcome to come!

– Union swag — bring your union’s buttons, pens/pencils, etc! It’ll be like a bookswap, except more of a lookswap.
– Cornhole, because we live in the Midwest. We are Midwesterners now. We call all fizzy drinks “pop.”
– Photobooth and props!
– Issue Bingo! (deets & a sneak peek coming soon)
– All of us to win a contract this academic year!! By golly, we will make it happen.
