Non-Tenure Eligible Faculty Union Gets Boost from Northwestern University Students
SEIU Local 73’s Northwestern University Non-Tenure Eligible Faculty Union gets a boost from students in spite of administration’s refusal to bargain in violation of labor law.
Amidst a swell of faculty support, the Northwestern University Associated Student Government passed a resolution to compel the administration to “lawfully recognize the results of the election, to submit to the law’s requirement to immediately begin negotiations with the representatives of the NUNTE Faculty Union and to cease spending donor and tuition dollars on expensive outside counsel to fight the Faculty Union.”
The Daily Northwestern, the university’s daily news outlet, reported on the passing of the student legislation.
