Anixter Center Workers Win Major Changes in New Union Contract

Anixter Center Article 070224

Social service workers at the Anixter Center have ratified a new contract with benefits that will allow them to serve their clients better.

Dedicated social service workers fought and won flexible holiday schedules, policies that will give Direct Service Providers (DSP) a stronger voice in client care, and fixed schedules. Additionally, they secured a 3.25% raise in 2024, 3% in 2025, and 3% in 2026, or state-funded increases for those years if they exceed the bargained percentages.

“As a DSP at Anixter, my clients depend on me every day. We must also have a voice to fight for our own needs as workers. We secured improved pay, a fairer holiday policy, and more in this contract. I am proud to be a union member and excited to continue to work together with my coworkers to create more protections and fairness in our workplace,” said Mechelle “Meme” Porter, DSP and Bargaining Team member.
