Local 73’s legal team has won a settlement against Bellwood School District for the termination of Kendell Bedenfield, Technology Tech at Roosevelt Middle School.
Local 73 and the School District reached a settlement that would allow Kendell to resign instead of being terminated, keep his pension, and receive 14 months of back pay.
“It helps to have someone fighting for you. Without a union, you would’ve been left with nothing. With a union, you have someone in your corner looking out for you and holding the employer accountable,” said Kendell.
