CPS Bus Aides Will Receive $250 Payment Agreed-Upon in Final Day of Bargaining

Together we achieved a victory after 17 months of negotiations and a seven-day strike. Per our agreement with Chicago Public Schools, all bus aides will receive their $250 payment agreed-upon in the final day of bargaining.

The payment will come as a separate check (or a separate direct deposit). It is non-pensionable and taxed at the supplemental rate.

The newly ratified contract includes the following specific benefits and changes for bus aides:

  • 17-27% wage increases based on years of service
  • 13 paid days off (sick time and personal days)
  • Equitable and fair assignment of hours based on seniority and evaluations
  • Longevity pay

When we fight, we win!
