Parks Workers Stand United: March 20th Chicago Park District Bargaining Update

In the month of March, Chicago Park District workers represented by SEIU Local 73 left the bargaining table stronger than ever with over 80 Park District workers in attendance during March 14th and March 20th negotiations. It is not easy to make it to bargaining meetings after a full work day but our Park District workers do it anyway. Everyone’s dedication and perseverance is evident to your co-workers and to management.

At March negotiations workers across job classes raised concerns about their working conditions and we reached an agreement to improve disciplinary processes. Discussions around improvements for hourly workers and handling promotions are ongoing. Please read the full update in the image below.

CPD’s next negotiations are scheduled for May 9th and we will be using this break to hold meetings in each area to talk about what it will take to win the contract we deserve. We are also asking all Park District workers to add their name to a petition in support of our contract goals. Click this link to view and sign the petition: http://bit.ly/CPDPetition .

We are very proud of the progress Park District workers have made and we look forward to seeing them win the best contract possible.
