THE TRUTH BEHIND OUR STRIKE

More than 75 Village of Oak Park workers were on strike Saturday, July 7 and Monday, July 9 after being continually disrespected in contract negotiations.

This group includes non-management staff at the Oak Park Village Hall, Parking Enforcement Officers, Public Works and Forestry Division employees, as well as several other departments in the village.

Village management gave themselves a 2% wage increase at the beginning of the year and a 1% lump sum bonus. But, they believe the lesser paid employees are only worth a 1% wage increase.

We stood together Saturday and Monday against village management to tell them ENOUGH IS ENOUGH! The disrespect has gone on too long!

We are hard-working employees who deserve to be treated fairly!
