CPS Rejects Raises

The Chicago Public Schools Board of Education held a special board meeting Wednesday, June 15 to discuss raises for all union employees within CPS, including Local 73 members, teachers, and hundreds of others.

The new board, in their first meeting after being appointed by Mayor Rahm Emanuel, unanimously rejected the raises in each of the union’s contract, including yours.

The city did not get into its current financial problems by giving out raises in the contract! We will fight this decision!

We have reached out to CPS officials to bargain with them over this rejection of a raise and have also initiated legal options if necessary.

If you have any questions, contact the Member Resource Center at 312.588.7630 or email MRC@SEIU73.org. Please include your name, phone number, job title, and school you work at when emailing.
